England starts a steady start in the third match at Edgbaston post-lunch session control tone, first of all, to restrict Pakistan to 400 in their first innings and then wipe out the deficit comfortably without loss, and finish the day with 120.

England captain Alastair Cook led a strong response, 50-plus score his fourth series Friday (August 5). Cook's unbeaten 64 was also complemented by fellow opener Alex Hales in the first half century of the series, which helped the home team to wipe out Pakistan's 103-run lead in the 31 overs in their second innings. The Duo batted positive thinking and no chance whatever, as Pakistan struggles to progress. In the process, they posted their maiden century opening stand and pushed England into the lead after Shorty.

Despite cracker of a delivery that turned sharply, Yasir Shah was unfortunate not to be named for his third wicket of Kumar Dharmasena UMPIRE left the field UMPIRE Joel Wilson is out lbw appeal against Hales, then 39. The batsman survived a close call, because the ball has been struck by just about outer leg. Hales followed it with a boundary in the next over from Sohail Khan, England erase the deficit and push them into the lead. The home team led by 17 runs when stumps were called three days.

Barring an hour or so in the morning session, the day belonged to the hosts by far. Despite gave away 79 runs in the first session in England took two important wickets like that experienced batsman Younis Khan, Asad and Shafik, who returned from a 18-ball Duck. Back after the break, England fought back with strikes quickly, as well as Pakistan slipped from their overnight score of 257 for 3 to 400 all out in two sessions combined. Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes took three wickets apiece to lead Pakistan to a manageable 103 runs.

James Anderson triggered a batting collapse after lunch with the wicket of Pakistan's batting mainstay Misbah- ul-Haq (56). While Sarfraz Ahmed held together at one end, wickets kept tumbling at the other end, and he was left stranded on 46 runs to their overnight score of 143 Pakistani folded after adding.

Anderson struck in his third over after lunch to end Pakistan Skipper's rest, picking up his first wicket of the day. Misbah walked away disappointed, shortly after he lifted up his 34th half-century as he entered the inside edge onto his stumps, having touched off his thigh pad.

After studying Yasser survived a leg before decision Anderson's next over. UMPIRE intermediary Dharmasena turned over on-field call after concluding that the action was out of off- stump. Leg spinner, however, does not make the most of his reprieve, as Woakes sent a sharp throw to the keeper, Jonny Bairstow, who took the bails off in a flash to be caught short of his crease Yasser while trying to complete a solid second run.

A clever use of the DRS review request Woakes, England received their second wicket in quick succession - that Mohammad Amir for 1. Bruce Oxenford sought-after Dharmasena not found to reverse its original appeal was trapped plumb in front Amir.

Meanwhile, Anderson, twice warned yesterday in his follow through, removed from the attack after a repeat offense, shortly before the second session of drinks. Steven Finn was called to complete, but it was his partner at the other end Broad, who caught just before 7 Sohail Khan Pakistan lost their ninth man. Rahat Ali Sarfraz together, keep the final wicket stand for England in a short, Joe Root, before the former edged straight to second slip, put an end to Pakistan's first innings of 400.

In the morning session, the hosts got their first breakthrough Woakes half an hour after the warnings, the batting by Misbah and Younis: Younis's wicket evoked a sense of deja vu: Similar to his dismissal at Old Trafford, the veteran Pakistan batsman went flick down the leg side, only to edge to get Bairstow behind the stumps.

While Misbah picked up the pace after the departure of his new partner Shafik average person struggles to get going. Broad, who was hit for 14 runs in the space of two overs, a Pakistani captain, wicket finally registered against his name, since he was released from Shafik with inswinger: The right-handed batsman was a tad late and left her in an attempt to block a wide gap between bat and pad and knock the ball sneak past his off stump off-.

Finn is extremely unlucky not to get the same spell Misbah, shortly after Pakistan squeezed leader. The skipper, then 25, got a thick edge to slip zone, but the ball flew past the root of the short third slip for a lucky boundary. Sarfraz went on the attack several consecutive sweeps off Moeen Ali in the final over before lunch and was lucky enough to take a margin on both occasions.

Brief scores: England 297 and 120/0 (Alastair Cook 64 *, 50 * Alex Hales) lead Pakistan 400 (Azhar Ali 139 Sami Aslam 82, Misbah- ul-Haq 56; Chris Woakes 3-79, Stuart wide 3-83) in 17 .
