England Skipper Still Struggling To Get a Win Aganist India

No comments :
Alastair Cook has defended England against rotation approach after they lost the third ODI in Nottingham for six wickets allowing India to take a 2-0 lead in the five-game series.

England was, at one stage, conveniently located at 82 for no loss, but were eventually shot by 227 runs at Trent Bridge, Saturday. They lost six wickets to spin like Ravichandran Ashwin off-spinner took 3-39 while left-armer Ravindra Jadeja slow and part-time workers and Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina got one wicket each for India.

"You do not go there when you lose wickets and keep hitting boundaries. I do not care what they say. Not many people come to a turning wicket and whack right away," Cook was quoted by the BBC.

Cook, who first scored for England with 44 and shared a second successive half-century opening with Alex Hales said ODI cricket it comes to making alliances and England failed miserably at it.

.. "You build borders by building an alliance If kept losing wickets, keeps hitting back You have to consolidate, you must allow yourself to get in can then speed up a little That's the way you have to play .." said.

"A lot of land has fallen to rotate in this series for us. We have to improve on that. We got off to another good start and be overwhelmed by 220 is incredibly frustrating. Know that as a side we did not bat well . were a couple of soft dismissals, "he said.

With two ODIs left, the position of Cook as ODI captain is under threat. Former England cricketers have not only ordered the dismissal of Cook, but I think that England has no chance of winning the World Cup 2015.

Former England spinner Phil Tufnell feel that hitters are not using their feet against the spinners in India.

"Part of the problem in England in the middle overs is not using his feet enough to deal with the spin bowlers. Almost become sitting ducks," said BCC Tufnell Test match special.

Former England spinner Graeme Swann said cricket "old style" will not help England win the Cup next year's World in Australia and New Zealand.

After Saturday's loss, former England captain Michael Vaughan tweeted: "The sooner you accept that England can not play modern style ODI cricket could soon play a little better ...."
