Imran Tahir has been playing for South Africa in Zimbabwe

The club to promotion back to the County Championship Divison One look terminated Imran Tahir, who was born in Pakistan, South Africa legspinner, the last two weeks of the season, has rejoined Hampshire.

Tahir, 35, last played for Hampshire in 2011 and in 2010 the county was part of the side that won the title of the first T-20; A year later, he helped them to the final day.

With 52 wickets at 32.90 in 2009, Hampshire's leading wicket-taker in the Championship, and two years later took 28 first-class wickets at 24.46 in eight Championship matches - but was relegated that season, Hampshire and Tahir now hopes to put that right.

To make certain of their promotion to Hampshire and has 27 points in two games at home against Kent away from the rest of Glamorgan.

"I agreed to come here, it is definitely in my mind and I'm looking forward to the challenge," Tahir said. "I'm only here for the last two matches, but then I would be very satisfied if I can contribute to Hampshire to campaign.

He took eight wickets in the match, but in the end it was not enough to lift the Champions Hampshire over Durham.
